Tokyo Trip Day 1 Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya

After arrival at Narita, we took Skyliner to Nippori and change 1 station to Uguisudani station to reach our hotel. It took about 5 minutes on foot from Uguisudani station to Hotel.
In front of Skyliner
We will take Skyliner heading towards Ueno
Skyliner arrived!

This is a view from Uguisudani station. We can see the train tracks and sometimes high speed train arrived or dashed over the mid-lane.
Our favourite eating house, Fuji Soba, which is just a stone throw distant away from our hotel.
There were other eating houses around too.
We would need to walk this bridge to get up and down from the lower road to the train station.
Subway arriving and leaving.
This is Uguisudani station
Buildings around Shinjuku area. We are at Shinjuku station.
Green public telephones
Meiji Jinggu
The Tori gate outside Meiji Jinggu in Harajuku

Only KL and me went in to "explore" the park, just walking a section to enjoy the last season of leftover red maple leaves before the real winter period kicks in.
I think there were some 3-5-7 children day blessing that day in the temple, it was a Sunday. Girls were dressed in cute and pretty kimono.

A closer look at Harajuku area in front of the Meiji Jinggu
Harajuku station, the outside looks petite but neat right?
Harajuku station, was wishing to see young girls dressed like lollita with pink wigs, but I did see some girls dress in School Uniform (duh,on a Sunday) and according to what I knew, it was another kind of dressing culture.
The girl in black was dress in lollita fashion.
Famous Takeshita Street where the youngsters love to visit on Sunday. Our hearts thus became younger when we joined the crowd. Did you see someone's face on the TV banner?
Come, join the crowd, they will sweep you in.
Famous crepe stall, there was a long queue, so we followed the crowd, we queued too!
Long awaited Crepe. Ahem... IMO tasted good but a bit too costly with that amount of ice cream in it.
I wanted to recommend this. The Colombin Harajuku Roll. Abit costly, but IMO, well worthed your penny. I loved the cream inside, so probably it was a personal preference.
Look lost? No we were heading to Kiddyland, but when we reached the shop, it was so packed!!! Probably people were getting Xmas presents for their kids, so we dare not enter in case we were stuck inside. We skipped Kiddyland reluctantly.
We headed to Shibuya by walk. Oh beautiful crystal!
Nah, the "Crystal".
Walking towards Shibuya. It was only 2.30pm SG time, but looked like dusk. The sun will set early. Remember our watch which pointed to 2.30pm was an hour ahead in JP (ie. 3.30pm). We just landed and not yet adjust our watch.
Walk and more walk, and we were into some columns of streets, We tried to locate a "Park" said on the map, in order to turn out of the street to reach Shibuya, but we could not locate the "Park". Guess what, the "Park" turned out to be a small kids play area in the middle of a road.
Rose seen at the "Park",
Maple leaf at the "Park".
Finally reached Shibuya, nice flowers and plant seen by the roadside.
Some campaign, so crowded.
Pavilion. Nice place at Shibuya, but we were not into high-end dining.
Nanbantei, I used to work for this company as a Part Time waitress in SG. Yes it's still around, in Far East, next to Goodwood Park.
Shibuya Crossing. So many Zebra Crossing, cross where? Observe first, when the traffic light turned green the 2nd time. follow the crowd.
After crossing, walk into a small lane with many lanterms, at the end of the road, turned right. Just below the highway, there was a nice Soba shop, had our dinner there, Japan time @ 4.30pm (3.30pm SG time, not feeling that hungry).

Already dark at night, 5.10pm at Japan time (4.10pm SG time)

Guess who? Hachiko, the loyal dog guarding at Shibuya Station

Looking at Pavilion, the hugh TV keep showing food! Feeling hungry!
Shibuya Crossing. Anyhow cross lah! Luan and confuse, just follow the crowd.

This blog shares pictures of our family in Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya on the first day of touched down in Narita AP.
