This was the place I mentioned, difficult to find and abit "hide". The entrance to take Arakawa Line Japan Street Car. |
| This photo looked so fade and creepy. Yeh, the entrance gate to take Street Car as you can see from the background. |
| Buying from vending machine as this machine sells ¥20 cheaper than usual from other vending machine we have seen so far. |
| Helping themselves, did you see the ¥80 promo above? |
| It's hot coffee! Drink while it's still hot! |
| OK this is a better view of the Arakawa Tram from the start point. |
| We reached our destination and will be walking to Ikebukuro station |
| Mandarin Orange! |
| Have our lunch at a Chuka restaurant (I mean Chinese food). |
| We walked toward Asakusa temple after coming out from the Subway. |
| I believe these are Kyoto Okashi? Sold along the street where we were heading towards the temple. |
| Yup, you can see that the Skytree is behind us when we head towards the temple. |
| Cross the road and you reach your destination - Asakusa Sensoji. |
| The famous "Thunder Door" huge lantern welcomed us. |
| Crafts and novelties shop on the 2 sides of Nakamise Street. |
| Nakamise |
| Nakamise |
| At the end of Nakamise, you can see Sensoji, just like our famous Waterloo Street GuanYin Tong in SG. |
| Serenity set in |
| Nice Buddha caption |
| Snap Snap Snap, everyone's busy! |
| See? I caught skytree! |
| The pagoda within the compound of Sensoji |
| The door, truely Jippun. |
| Taking a rest! |
| We could still see Maple leaves, beautiful! |
| Significant icons you can;t miss, view across Sumida River |
| Asahi Brewery icon |
| Train crossing the bridge over Sumida River |
| Bridge over Sumida River. This is also the place where you could board a cruise to Odaiba (instead of using Yurikamome . like LRT in SG, then you will have to go to Shinbashi station to ride that, and it's not cheap!) |
More pictures to share on Day 3.
Something went wrong with my camera when I started to take pictures at Arakawa Line. Coloured photos became B&W. Anyway hope you like my additional blog where I provide more details on how to get to Asakusa Kannon Temple (ie Sensoji).
