Chinese Garden Countdown 2007

Papa brought us to Chinese Garden for picnic on the last day of year 2007. It was such a hot day. Look! I was sweating all over, luckily mummy let me wear a singlet. How I wish for aircon.

Mummy said papa can set up a fried noodle stall because papa's cooking was so good. Mama praised that the fried noodle was so tasteful that day, perhaps she was too hungry. I enjoy eating finger food. Mummy bought cocktail nuts to add to the "dessert".

Le Le 3 years old birthday celebration

Hello I am Le Le. I am 3 years old on 2 Dec 2007

Papa, mama & popo had a simple and mini celebration for me, mama even bought me a cake. I am very happy.

The 2 big cars are my birthday gift from mama. Popo give me an Ang Bao. Mama says she will keep it for me. Papa did all the cooking except for the chicken wings which are prepare and roast in the oven by mama.

Look at that greedy mei mei . She keep staring at the chicken wings!

7 days in KKH..

Metta was hospitalized due to UTI.

On 9/11/07, Metta's had fever and we gave her dose of medication and place cooler pad on her forehead but fever was still not able to subside even until 10/11/07. Her milk intake was also reducing and she became more tired.Papa was in camp and managed to return on Sat night.

We sent Metta to KKH around 8pm, we waited for her to pee till wee hours but was still not able to collect the sample, she was not drinking well. We did not suspect anything unusual, pd allowed us to go home around 2plus in the early morning. We reached home almost 3am, too tired for anything else. We were ask to bring back the urine sample within 2 hours once Metta pee.

Around late morning, we managed to collect the sample and went to KKH immediately. Unexpectedly the sample we collected were said to be contaminated, another sample is required. The long wait begin again. Metta was not drinking well and was feverish by then. Around 3pm, we managed to get another sample, sent to lab and then start "bathing" her to bring down her temperature.

At 4pm, pd confirm the result, there was high white cell count, meaning there were trace of bacteria in her (infection) which result in fever, Metta needs to be warded.

The looooooooooong day(s) begun...

Day and night and day... mummy and popo take turns take care and stay by her side (papa was serving reservist). Le Le came to hospital everyday as no one else could take cae of him at home.

Many days of tireness, stress, pains and laughters...

* Tireness - Not enough sleep Zzzz...

* Stress - What would be the bill, when can she be discharge?

* Pains - Metta was poke with needles here and there just to find the veins, both her little hands were poke numerous times. The needles fallen off on the 3rd day and the doctor had to poke her again on the other hand. The pain the child is suffering deeply hurts the parents' heart. How to tahan? Heartache..

* Laughters - Of course, Metta has the love and care from mummy, papa, popo, gugu, jiu-jiu, da-jiu and family including her cousin, En En. Not forgeting the parents we corresponded from the next bed, without them, we would really be bored to death.

On Sat morning, 17/11/07, Le Le was running a fever at 38.2 degree, mummy was shocked and quickly gave him medication. Mummy will collapse if Le Le would be the next victim of the bacteria...

Around late evening, mummy felt nausea, tummyache and follwed by fever. Begin to run toilet and vomitted several times. Mummy begin to suspect food-poisoning which causes the triggering of gastric pain. Mummy collapsed as the pain was unbearable due to past history of gastric problem. Went into 24 hours, took the medication and lie down awhile, it gets better into wee hours.

Le Le temperature went up to 39 degree. Papa managed to get the approval from his officer to be excused to come out to see to all these terrible episode. Papa immediately sent Le Le to Children Emergency, this lucky little boy was save from fever after several dosage of medication.

At this point of time, popo was vomitting and turned feverish also. These seems to be related to mummy as both had food poisoning. We did not want to suspect on what food we had eaten, we strongly believe that our bodies were much weaker due to so many days of ordeals...

Papa sent popo and Le Le home so that they can quickly get away from hospital. Mummy gets better and stay by Metta to attend to her. Papa then return to KKH with tired body, ended up papa himself need 2 doses of medicine.

Metta was finally discharge on 18/11/07 after 7 days of antibiotic through her veins. She is now recovering at home and is getting better each day. We were required to give her oral medication everyday till Dec...

May these not happen to our poor baby anymore...

Call out "Ma Ma"

Metta call out "Ma Ma" on 19 Oct 2007. Yipee....

 

We put Metta on her rocker while have our dinner today. She was facing us, surrounding the dinning table. She keep looking at us and we keep looking at her. Suddenly she looks at me and call out "ma.ma.ma.ma. ma . pa. pa.". Although she later change to calling out " Pa Pa", but yes she did it. She call out "Ma ma", my husband heard it too. I am so happy, I suppose she wants to be carried, so she keep saying "ma ma ma.." (not "mum mum").

 

I am so happy for my bao bei - Xiao Wei - Metta.

 

Call out "Pa Pa"

Metta call out "Pa Pa" on 6 Oct 2007.

 

Metta was about to fall asleep that evening when papa return and walk into the house. She was facing the door at that moment and she try to say " pa.. pa.. Pa Pa". Papa was so happy that he immediately carry her up.

 

(( We did not record down when Rinchen call "ma ma", but Rinchen call "mama" first.))

 

 

Hainan Island Trip 2-7Sep 2007

We went on a 6 days Hainan Island Trip from 2 to 7 Sep 2007. Hainan Island is also known as the Eastern Hawaii because the island is full of coconut trees. The island is well known for production of coconut items, coffee, cocoa, pepper, rubber etc.. which are mostly grown in tropical countries.

Rinchen is OK as this is not his first trip onboard the airplane but Metta is not alright onboard. She is crying when the airplane is about to land, possibly due to the pressure, if not, tired.



Overall is OK trip just that the weather is hot, really hot. We are alll sweating everyday!!! I am still tanned even after returned for 2 weeks already. Rinchen is not so tan but Metta is so dark that she looks like a Malay already.

The logistic part: Carrying a big and heavy bag everywhere we go, it was the most tiring part. The bag contains the whole day EBM + 1 big thermal flask filled with hot water, both kids spare clothings, diapers, toys, containers and milk powder, it weighs more than 10kg. We have to bring this bag everywhere we go even if it is just going up for lunch, this is because the bag contain EBM which we cannot afford to leave it on the bus.

Places we went includes (mainly) Song Qin Ling's memorial mansion, Wan Quan River, Bo Ao, Xing Nong Botanic Garden, Dong Shan Lin, Li-minority tribute, Deer Turning Head Hilltop Park, Visit to Nan Shan Buddhist Temple, in San Ya, where the 108m tall Guan Yin statue stands, Visit to "Tian Ya Hai Jiao", Beaches, 5 Generals Temple and more.
I love the place they call it Wan Quan River. It's a famous river in Hainan. Separated by a stretch of Golden Beach, one side is River, one side is Sea, how special is this!

The main highlight in Hainan Island is of course the 5A Tourism Zone, the Sanya Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone. It's where the 108m tall 3 faces Guan Yin statue stands. Nanshan is the southernmost mountain of China, situated 40 miles west of Sanya, facing South China Sea. It was fun to spend half a day inside this hugh park. Just merely be there to be with Guan Yin brings so much joy and peace to our mind. So next time when you visit Hainan Island, please remember to pay a visit to the South Sea Guan Yin.

Dongshan Ling is another spot where we enjoy ourselves very much. It's also a Buddhist place. The temple is located somewhere in the middle of the mountain. We took the open air cable car up to the mountain top to take a glimpse of the whole area. Hugh rocks and rocks, is what I would say. The most challenging part is to carry a heavy bag and carrying Metta, at the same time taking pictures and video. The view is beautiful from atop and on our way down, we see many hugh rocks such as the "Live rock" and also a statue of Maitreya Buddha (Laughing Buddha).

Tianya-Haijiao Tourist Zone is another highlight for tourists. It's worth to visit if you are sporty enough to walk deep in and explore. You will love the path you take. It's walking and walking till you see 2 hugh rocks, one named Tianya and one named Haijiao, on the beach. Of course there are also alot of other rocks with beautiful name or with chinese cravings. Best for lovers. Only my mum, myself with Metta walk deep in to see Tianya and Haijiao. It's where we get our "pound lost" and is also where we sweat and sun-tan OMG...

Popular goodies to bring home: These includes biscults, snacks and sweets make from coconuts, coffee, cocoa etc..coffee powder, coconut powder, pepper, handicraft made by the Li-minority and famous tea of Hainan island, tea leaf pluck from Wu Zhi mountain (5 fingers mountain) call "Ku Ding" Tea.

The next time you visit Hainan Island, please do not forget to bring your sun-block, sunglass and umbrella! Most of all, it's so tempting that I must tell you, please do not forget to drink coconut juice as much as you like before you leave!

Today marked Triple 7 day.

 

Metta is one of the semi-finalist in a contest organised by the KKWCH. She is 4 months 3 weeks old today and weighs about 7.8kg, she is growing heavier, fast and well.

Desaru Trip

We went to Desaru. This was our second attempt with the kids. This time round we stayed at Golden Beach Resort. The previous time we stayed at The Pulai Beach Resort.

 

It was so nice to have a room with beach view though we were quite far behind few other blocks.

 

Mosquitoes were most unwelcomed!

 

The food were really nice. Our favourite was the chicken satay, big size! We love the buffet breakfast too though the varieties were not much. I ate 4 pratas at one go, the curry was cooked with potatoes, carrot and something vegan which were healthy and tasty, so delicious!

 

A pity that the weather was too hot and that the restaurant was not air-conditioned. Sun shining onto our face and the area was not installed with fan either. We were melting as we eat and it made the dining session unenjoyable but in a rush so that we could quickily go back to our room. Hope these could be improved.
